IMPORT command

The IMPORT command is used to import files of different formats to current drawing.

Command Access:

Ribbon : Insert > Import > Import
Menu : File > Import...
Command : IMPORT

Function Description:

Users could import data files (rather than DWG files) created by other applications to current drawing, data files will be converted to corresponding DWG files.
The following formats could be imported:
Metafile (*.wmf): general metafile
ACIS (*sat): ACIS solid object files
3D Studio (*.3ds): 3d studio files
If the FILEDIA system variable is specified to 0, it will display options in the command prompt line.
