To Define a Block for the Current Drawing

To Define a Block for the Current Drawing
- Create objects you want to use in the block definition.
- Click Insert tab > Block Definition panel > Create Block in the ribbon.
- The Block Definition dialog box is displayed, enter a block name in the Name box.
- Under Objects option, select Convert to Block. If Delete option is selected, the original objects are erased from the drawing when the block is created.
- Under Base Point and Objects option, make sure Specify On-screen is cleared.
- Under Base point, Click Pick point option to pick insertion base point in the current drawing or enter the X,Y,Z coordinate values of the point.
- Under Objects, Click Select Objects to close the Block Definition dialog box temporarily while you select objects for the block. When you finish selecting objects, press Enter to redisplay the Block Definition dialog box.
- In the Description box, enter a description for the block definition. This description is displayed in Design Center.
- Click OK. The block is defined in the current drawing and can be inserted at any time.
