Layer names listed in the Layer Properties Manager can be sorted by name or by property, such as color or visibility. To show only the layers you want to work with in a large drawing, you can use the layer filter and select any of the following properties:
Layer names, colors, linetypes, lineweights, plot styles, layers in use, turned on or off, layers frozen or thawed in the active viewport or all viewports, layers locked or unlocked and set to be plotted.
Sort Layers
You can sort the layers in ascending or descending alphabetical order that you have created by name or other properties. Click the column heading in the Layer Properties Manager to sort layers by property in that column.
Wild-Card Characters
You can use wild-card characters to sort layers by name like: # (pound), @ (at), . (period), * (asterisk), ? (question mark), \~ (tilde), [ ] (enclosed), [\~] (not enclosed), [-] (range),`\~ (reverse quote).
