To make your first plotting experience in the program easier, you'd best to understand the terms and concepts related to plotting first.
Plotter Manager
Plotter configuration (PC3) files for every non-system printer that you install, will be listed in the Plotter Manager window. If you want to use default properties different from those used by Windows, you can also created a Plotter configuration files for Windows system printers. Port information, raster and vector graphics quality, paper sizes and some custom properties can be specified by plotter configuration.
The Add-a-Plotter wizard list at the bottom of plotter list in the Plot dialog box. Following the wizard, you can added plotter driver provided by GstarCAD.
Layouts
A layout represents a plotted page. There is no limit to the number of layouts. Each layout is saved on its own layout tab and can be associated with a different page setup.
Elements like title blocks and notes that only appear on a plotted page, you can draw them in paper space in a layout. The objects in drawings are created in model space on the Model tab. You can establish layout viewports to view these objects in the layout.
Page Setups
You specify a plotter and settings such as page size and plot scale when you create a layout. These settings are saved in a page setup. You can control these settings for layouts and for the Model tab using the "Page Setup Manager". You can name and save page setups for use with other layouts in current drawing or other drawings.
You can override a page setup at plot time. If you don't specify all the settings when you create a layout, you can set up the page before you plot. You can use the settings temporarily or save it as layout page setup.
Plot Styles
Potted properties like lineweight, color and fill style are parts of the plot style, which determines how an object or layer is plotted. Groups of plot styles are collected in plot style tables, which are shown in the Plot Style Manager window.
Color-dependent and named are the two available plot style types. Only one type of plot style table can be used in a drawing, but a plot style table can be converted from one type to the other.
Color-dependent plot style tables(*.ctb) determines how objects are plotted by their color. Color-dependent plot styles cannot be assigned directly to objects. You control how to plot an object by changing its color. For example, all blue objects in a drawing are plotted the same way.
Named plot style tables(*.stb) use plot styles that are assigned directly to layers and objects . Using them enables each object in a drawing to be plotted differently, regardless of its color.
Plot Stamps
You can also add a line of text as a plot stamp to your plot. Using the Plot Stamp dialog box, you can determine where you want the text to be located on the plot. When you plot a drawing to any device with this option turned on, you can add detailed plot stamp information like drawing name, layout name, date and time, etc. You can record the plot stamp information to a log file in addition to plotting it, or instead of plotting it.
