VIEW Command Line

Function Description:

This command is used to save and restore model views, layout views and preset views of a named model.

Command Prompts:

Enter an option [?/Delete/Orthographic/Restore/Save/sEttings/Window]:

?

Lists the named views and cameras in the drawing. It contains each specified view name and its defined space in the list. M means model space. P means paper space.

Delete

Deletes one or more named viewports.

Orthographic

Restores the predefined orthographic view which you specify to the current viewport.
The view orientation of the specified orthographic view is determined by the UCSBASE system variable. By default, it is the WORLD. The program may scale it to the current viewport after restoring the orthographic view.

Restore

Restores the specified view to the current viewport. If a UCS setting and the view are saved together, it is also restored.
The center point and scale are restored. If users restore a model space view while working in paper space, it prompts to select a viewport in which to restore this view.
Users can select a viewport by clicking its border. The selected viewport should be on and active. The program switches to model space and restores the view in the selected viewport.
If users restore a paper space view while working in model space in a layout tab, the program switches to paper space and restores this view.
Users can not restore a paper space view if they are working in the Model tab.

Save

Saves what displayed in the current viewport by the supplied name.
It displays the current UCSVIEW system variable value when saving the view. To change settings and turn on or off this option, users can use the UCS option of the VIEW command.

sEttings

Specifies all kinds of settings of the VIEW command.

• Background: Specifies background of the view. The background only displays in 3D visual styles.
• Categorize: Specifies the category of a named view. All named views are displayed by category on the View List tab in the Sheet Set Manager.
• Layer snapshot: Saves the visibility settings of the current layer in the new named view.
• live Section: Specifies the live section for application when restores the view. This is only available in model space.
• Ucs: Determines whether to save the current UCS and elevation settings when saving the drawing. (UCSVIEW system variable)
• Visual style: Sets or updates the visual style.

Window

Saves one part of the current display as a view.
Because the specified window shape may be differ from the restored view, the restored objects may exceed the specified window border. However, it only plots objects inside the window rather than the whole viewport display.
