Selection Function Improvements
Traditional box selection involves drawing a rectangle or polygon to select entities, which is convenient for simple shapes. However, when users need to select complex shapes or only a part of a shape, using box selection for such complex and small-area entities can be challenging. It may require multiple attempts to achieve the desired result. In contrast, lasso selection is more suitable for selecting specific areas, allowing users to freely draw different selection areas to choose entities.
Lasso Selection
Lasso selection can not only replace box selection for choosing simple entities but also solve the problem of difficulty in selecting complex shapes using box selection.
- Activation: Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse to create a lasso. Release the mouse button to complete the lasso selection.
- There are three modes of lasso selection: lasso window intersection selection, lasso window selection, and lasso bar selection. Users can switch between these modes by pressing the spacebar or Enter key, as shown in the figure below:
Compatibility
The PICKAUTO system variable has been optimized to maintain consistency with AutoCAD.
Box Selection Improvements
During box selection, users can now directly specify the opposite corner, which simplifies the process of making a selection. Additionally, there are new options introduced for selecting entities:
Support for Cyclic Selection
In GstarCAD 2025, the command execution now supports cyclic selection, which allows users to filter and select the graphic objects they need to operate on among overlapping objects.
