Function Description:

This command is used to change the length of objects and angles of arcs. Users can change length or angle by specifying a percentage, total or dynamic. Using the LENGTHEN command is equivalent to the TRIM or EXTEND command.

Command Prompts:

Select an object or [DElta/Percent/Total/DYnamic]:

Select an object

Displays the current length of the selected object. The LENGTHEN command has no effect on closed objects. The direction of extrusion does not need to be parallel to the Z axis of the current UCS.

DElta

Changes the length of objects by specified delta, the value of delta is measured from the nearest end point of select objects. Users can also use this way to change angles of arcs. The value of delta is measured from the nearest end point of select arc. If the delta value is positive, the selected object will be extended, on the contrary if the delta value is negative, the selected object will be trimmed.

Length:
Changes the length of the object by a specified increment.
Angle:
Changes the included angle of the selected arc by the specified angle.

Percent

Sets the length of an object by a specified percentage of its total length.3

Total

Sets the length of a selected object by setting absolute value of the total length, the total length is measured from the fixed endpoint. The Total option also specifies the included angle of a selected arc by a specified total angle.

Total length:
Lengthens the object from the endpoint that is nearest to the selected point to the specified total length.

- Angle:
Sets the included angle of the selected arc.

DYnamic

Turns on the Dynamic Dragging mode. Users can change the length of a selected object by dragging one endpoint, and the other endpoint remains unchanged.
