Function Description:
Manages and inserts content such as blocks, xrefs and hatch patterns.
In the Design Center, users can browse contents in PC, including open files and
once visited graphic files; they can also apply named objects (eg. Block and layer) to currently opened drawing.
The Design Center palette is similar to Properties palette. It can be fixed or suspended in GstarCAD program by dragging.
Users can control the display of Design Center by right-clicking on the title bar and selecting "Auto hide" option. If checked this option, when moving the cross cursor outside of Design Center, it only displays the title bar of Design Center; if uncheck this option, it displays the whole Design Center.
In Design Center, users can click buttons on the tool bar to display or access some options.
The palette contains three tabbed pages, including folder, open drawings and history. When selected "folder" or "open drawings" option, the palette are divided into two parts, they are tree view (left) and content region (right).
Tool Bar
Load: Displays the "Load" dialog box (a standard file selection dialog
box). Use Load to navigate to files on local and network drives or on
the Web and then to select content to load in the content area.
Back:Returns to the last location in the history list. Users can also click the drop-down button and select the file location in the list.
Forward:Returns to the next location in the history list.
Up Level:Displays the content on the up level of current level. Note: “Back”, “Forward” and “Up Level” options are available when Folder tab
is selected.
Search:
Displays the “Search” dialog box. Users can search drawings, blocks and non-graphical drawings by specifying search conditions. It also displays customized content saved on the desktop.
Favorite:Display contents in “Favorite” folder on the right part of
content region. In the “Favorite” folder, there are shortcuts for
frequently accessed items. In the content region or Tree View window,
users can add some items to Favorite folder by right-clicking and selecting “Add to Favorites” option.They
can also remove some items from the “Favorite” folder following this way: right-click on the item and select “Organize Favorites…”, select the item and delete it and refresh in the popped window.
Homepage: Returns Design Center to your home folder.
TreeView Switch: Displays and hides the tree view. Hide the tree
view if you need more space in your drawing area. When the tree view is
hidden, you can use the content area to navigate to containers and to
load content. The TreeView Switch button is not available while you are
using the History list in the tree view.
Preview: Displays and hides a preview of the selected item in a pane
below the content area. If there is no preview image saved with the
selected item, the Preview area is empty.
Detail: Displays and hides a text description of the selected item in a
pane below the content area. If a preview image is also displayed, the
description is displayed below it. If there is no description saved with
the selected item, the Detail area is empty.-
Views: Provides different display formats for the content that is loaded
in the content area. You can select a view from the Views list. The
default view varies for the type of content currently loaded in the
content area. -
Large Icon: Displays the names of the loaded content in large icon format.
- Small Icon: Displays the names of the loaded content in small icon format.
- List: Displays the names of the loaded content in a list.
- Details: Displays additional information about the loaded content. You can sort the items by name, size, type and other properties, depending on the type of content that is loaded in the content area.
Folder Tab
Displays the hierarchical structure of files and folders in user computer or network driver, including “My computer” and “Network Neighborhood”.
Open Drawings Tab
Displays all open drawings in the current task, including minimized drawings.
History Tab
Displays the recently opened drawing list in Design Center. After displaying the history, users can display the detail of file by right-clicking it or remove it from the History list.
