Function Description:
This command is used to combine selected 3D solids, surfaces, or 2D regions by adding operation.
Users must select the same kind of objects to union.
- Apply the UNION command on surfaces: Although the UNION can be applied on surfaces, it may lead to losing associativity.
- Apply the UNION command on solids and regions: The selection set can contain any number of objects on different planes. If selecting mixed type of objects, it separately combines subsets. The solid is arranged in the first subset, the first selected region and other regions in the same plane are arranged in the second sub set, and so on.
The combined solid is a closed space formed by all selected solids and the combined region is a closed region formed by all selected regions.
Users can not apply the UNION command on mesh objects. However, if you select mesh objects, it prompts you to convert them into 3D solids or surfaces.
