SECTIONPLANE Command

Function Description:
This command is used to create a section object that acts as a cutting plane through 3D objects.
Command Access:

Menu: Draw > Modeling > Section Plane
Ribbon: 3D > Section > Section Plane

Command Prompts:
Select face or any point to locate section line or [Draw section/Orthographic/Type]:
Select face or any point to locate section line
Specify a face to create section plane, or select one point in any position to create section plane that independent of solid or surface. This point will become center that section plane revolving around.
- Specify through point:
Specify the second point to define the section plane.
Draw section
Define the section plane with multiple vertexes by twist section lines.
Orthographic
Align the section object to the orthogonal direction of relative UCS.

Type
Specifies a plane, slice, boundary or volume as the parameter when creating the section plane. Once you choose a style, the command reverts back to the first prompt, with the selected type set as default.
- Plane:
Allows you to specify a planar segment of a 3D solid, surface, mesh, or point cloud and place the section plane. - Slice:
Allows you to select a planar segment with depth of a 3D solid, surface, mesh or point cloud to place the section plane. - Boundary:
Allows you to select the boundary of a 3D solid, surface, mesh, or point cloud and place the section plane. - Volume:
Allows you to create a bounded volume section plane.
